Kids are good at personal goal setting.
Remember when you were a kid and you dreamed about what you would be when you 'grew up'? Remember that? What happened to those dreams?
Did you want to be a fireman? Did you want to travel to the Greek Isles? Did you want to go ziplining in Costa Rica? Did you want to be the next great author?
Chances are you graduated school, got a job, maybe got married, started a family and now you seem to be in a 'rut'. Unfortunately the 'rut' seems to have swallowed up most people and for many, it seems that 'rut' is almost impossible to get out of.
What if I could teach you a way to climb out of that rut?
What if you could live the life that you dreamed of, when you were just out of school and ready to take the world on? How would it feel to be that excited about something again?
I’ve been working with a leadership and personal development company called Klemmer & Associates. They offer a number of tips on setting goals to help you get past the stuck points in your life. It's an awesome company! If this sounds like something of interest, check out their website at Klemmer & Associates.
Their mandate is to 'create big change in a short amount of time'.
You can apply this to your business as well as your personal life. Lots of people spend oodles of time 'working on their business'. What about working on your life?
Most people just stay in that 'rut'. Does it make sense that if you work on your 'life', then your business or career could actually improve as well?
I can recognize my 'programs'. Those things that get me 'stuck'. Now I have the tools to get 'unstuck' and create the life that I was meant to live.
I would like to teach these same tools to you.
Goals are dreams with deadlines!
There is always more than one way to meet your goal. In fact, you will find that there are many ways to achieve your goal. We will work together on goal setting activities for you, so that you can reach your dreams in the shortest amount of time.
Personal goal setting objectives must be S.M.A.R.T.
Measurable - evaluate your progress. Set target dates. Ask questions.
Attainable - make your plan and work your plan.
Risky - break out of your box. Work beyond your comfort zone.
Timed - set a timed target date to establish a sense of urgency.
We all have personal goal setting objectives whether we realize that or not. Maybe you want to buy a new car, lose 20 pounds, or take a holiday to the Greek Islands.
Whatever your dreams are, you can reach them by using these steps. One of my favorite goal setting activities is to create a dream board. Cut out pictures and words of things that inspire you. If it is a car, a trip, an adventure, a house - whatever - find a picture and cut it out. Take a large piece of bristol board and make a collage of your dreams. By looking at it every day, you focus your attention on the things that you want.
One of my dreams is to lead an Adventure Tour to Italy!
