The Best Way to Lose Weight

People always want to know the best way to lose weight. The picture above represents what 1 pound of fat looks like.  Now before you go clicking off this page, read on!

There are many ways to accomplish this task, but in my opinion, the best one is to use a combination of:

  • Healthy eating and healthy smoothies - the #1 most effective way!
  • Healthy detox - to get the garbage out of our systems
  • Weight lifting - not to be a bodybuilder but to gain muscle
  • Aerobic exercise - like walking, running, skating, biking, etc
  • In.Form Coaching - ask me!  I'm a Coach!

Does that come as any surprise to you? I’m sure it doesn’t!

The best way to lose weight for you is to find something that you enjoy. The best exercise program in the world is something that you love to do and wouldn't miss for anything! There are all kinds of workouts out there, but if you don't enjoy it, you won't do it - and a workout that you won't do is one that can't help you!


What is the best way to lose weight?

In May 2016, I became a certified In.Form Nutritional Coach through Nature's Sunshine and I have to say that this is a COMPLETE program!  I find that the best way to lose weight is a combination of eating healthy food, getting the junk out, healthy detox and exercise.  And to do all of that on our own can sometimes seem overwhelming.  That's where an In.Form Coach can really help you out!

Healthy Detox

This is where the rubber hits the road! In my opinion, eating healthy is your best way to lose weight. You can exercise all you want but if you are feeding yourself garbage, then you will not see the results that you are looking for.

When was the last time that you kept a food journal? This is the first thing I have my clients do when we begin a nutrition plan. You may be amazed at what is actually going in your mouth.

  • Do you eat breakfast?
  • How many times a day do you eat?
  • Are you still hungry after you eat a meal?
  • What do you snack on? When?
  • How much water did you drink today?

These are all things to consider!


If you do nothing else except commit to eating healthy, you will begin to lose weight.   Your body will begin to do a healthy detox just by changing your food choices.

There are a lot of products on the market claiming to be weight loss shakes.  Be careful!  A lot of them are filled with sugars and chemicals!  Personally, I do like to add a health smoothie into my daily routine but I also like to chew.  Just drinking shakes for my nutrition is not something that I could stick to.

Natural weight loss supplements are also very popular.  Once again, it's buyer beware!  Lots of companies are producing products that claim to have a certain product in them but the amount is so low that it won't do what it is supposed to anyhow.

Exercise to Lose Weight

Women's fitness has traditionally been centered around aerobic exercise or some type of group class. I guess we just like to be together in a social setting!

Aerobic exercise is any type of exercise that gets your heart and lungs working and therefore strengthens your cardiovascular system. It's also a great way to burn up extra calories and in turn burn fat! Remember that picture at the top of the page?

Walking and running are also great ways to incorporate aerobic exercise into your routine.  See my page on Walking for Weight Loss.

During the 12-week In.Form class, I issue weekly exercise challenges that incorporate cardio like walking for weight loss and resistance training to help build muscles.

Resistance training or using weights is also important to building toned muscles that are revealed once that extra layer of fat is removed by the aerobic exercise that you are doing.

No female client that I have ever worked with has had the goal of becoming a female weight lifter. Most of my clients have said "I don't want to look like that!"


And my answer is always "you just don't have the right genetic make-up to look like that! Besides you would have to spend 2-3 hours per day, 5-6 days a week in the gym AND take some hormone-enhancing supplements". That usually does the trick!

With that said, weight lifting is a great way to increase your metabolism, tone your muscles and lose weight!

My Opinion on the Best Way to Lose Weight

In my opinion, the best way to lose weight is to be eating healthydoing some exercise and adding in some weight lifting to round out your program!  If you want a kick-start, then consider a cleanse or a natural weight loss supplement.  Ask me! I can help you decide which is best for you!
