Why I Love What I Do!

Hey there! I'd like to tell you a little about Kathy McAlpine Terpstra (that's me), and why I love what I do. I'm all about physical fitness, your personal wellness and natural supplements to enhance your health!

I love adventure! I have been an active person all my life. I am of the era where your mother kicked you out of the house in the morning and then you played and rode your bike around all day until it was time to go home for dinner. My interest in sports began at the age of 4 when I started figure skating. At the age of 18, in my final year of competitive skating, I placed 4th in Ontario, Canada.

I studied economics and business at the University of Western Ontario in London. By that time, I had put my skates to rest and developed an interest in aerobic exercise and resistance training. After completing my degree, I went to work in the corporate banking world while following my passion for fitness and healthy eating. During those years, I obtained numerous certifications in the health and wellness industry and learned a lot about natural supplements.

What is Physical Fitness and Why Do I Love It?

What is physical fitness to me? Physical fitness is not just a measurement of how many reps you can do or how far you can run. It's a feeling of overall health. So many factors contribute to physical fitness including movement, mental & emotional balance, healthy eating and a good dose of fun living. What is physical fitness to you?

When I work with clients, it's not all about the exercise. Lots of times it includes a way for clients to talk about something that's been on their mind, or a health related issue that they have been having. They value my opinion and ask for my input to give them a different view. That's another advantage when you get to know a little bit more about Kathy. I'm here to help you get what you want.

That's where my training as a Life Coach and Natural Health Care Practitioner make the difference between just an "OK" session and one that really makes an impact. Since I'm forever a student at heart, I began to expand my knowledge and interest into the fields of

  • herbs
  • natural supplements
  • body work like Fascial Stretch and RAPID NFR
  • weight lifting


Summing Up About Kathy

So that's a little history about Kathy McAlpine Terpstra and how I came to love what I do!

Personally, I love to keep fit by competing in duathlons (like a triathlon but with no swimming, just an extra run ), running, cycling, snowboarding (only on the green hills!) and dancing. I love healthy eating (and chocolate!) and being self-employed. It allows me the freedom to set my own hours, take vacation when I want to and be home for my daughter.

I'm an avid traveler. I've backpacked through Australia and New Zealand and have visited many countries in Europe too. In June 2014, I completed  a Yoga/cycling adventure through Tuscany!  I would love to expand my adventure tours to include international travel! Maybe we can even throw in a little healthy eating while we are there!

I hope this has given you a little insight into my life. I hope that it inspires you somehow, to get out of your comfort zone and start living life that's a little bit larger.
